Create a transparent PNG
Useful for product photos, avatars, stickers, and design assets.
Check transparency in the workspace preview before exporting.
How it works
- 1
Choose an image
Start with a JPG, PNG, or WebP, including a regular photo.
- 2
Remove the background
Review the edges and use the transparency checkerboard to inspect the result.
- 3
Export as PNG
Export as PNG to preserve alpha transparency. Converting a JPG to PNG alone does not remove its background.
Common use cases
Product assets
Reuse a product cutout on different colors and campaign layouts.
Avatars and stickers
Create portraits, icons, or stickers that can be layered over other backgrounds.
Presentations and design
Place a subject into slides, posters, web pages, or other compositions.
Web graphics and stickers
Place an isolated subject as a transparent layer in web graphics, article covers, or sticker designs.
Product pages and promotions
Reuse a product cutout across promotional backgrounds and layouts.

Examples illustrate the workflow; results depend on the source image.
PNG format is not the same as transparency
PNG can store an alpha channel, but the image must contain transparent pixels. Saving a JPG as PNG keeps its original background.
After export, inspect the edges on both light and dark backgrounds. Light subjects can be difficult to see on a white page.
Frequently asked questions
How is a transparent PNG created?+
The subject is separated from the image and the background is removed before exporting in PNG, which supports transparency.
Can a white background be made transparent?+
You can try removing a white background. Review the result carefully if the subject also contains white or the edges have low contrast.
How does a transparent PNG look on different colors?+
Transparent areas reveal the page or canvas beneath. Check edges and light-colored subjects on both light and dark backgrounds.
Why is the white background still there after JPG-to-PNG conversion?+
JPG-to-PNG changes the file format but does not remove the background. Use background removal to create transparent pixels.
Can transparent images be used for products and avatars?+
Transparent cutouts can be placed in product layouts, avatar designs, posters, websites, and slides. Check dimensions and edges against platform requirements.
